Masala Oats

Savoury oats cooked with veggies, mild spices and ginger.

    Heat 1 tbsp ghee in a kadai. Crackle 1 tsp cumin, add a pinch of hing.

    Sauté chopped onion, ginger, green chili and curry leaves until onion turns soft.

    Add chopped tomato, mixed veg (carrot, beans, peas), ½ tsp turmeric, 1 tsp red chili powder, salt. Cook 4 mins.

    Add 1 cup rolled oats, dry-roast 1 min in the masala.

    Pour in 3 cups hot water, stir, cover and simmer 4–5 mins until oats are creamy.

    Finish with chopped coriander and a squeeze of lemon. Serve hot.
